The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), in conjunction with the Minnesota Department of Health, has announced that a COVID-19 testing site has just opened at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Located in the lobby area of the Blue Parking Ramp across the skyway from Terminal 1, the site is open to anyone seeking a test. Hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. While walk-ins will be accepted, reservations are encouraged to speed the process. Click here to register and choose a time for your test.
The airport testing site, like several others around the state, are operated by Vault Health. The saliva test (no swab up your nose!), takes 10-15 minutes on average, so allocate about 30 minutes from check-in to departure. Your saliva sample will be sent to Vault’s private lab in suburban Oakdale for testing, and you will be advised of the results via email in 24-48 hours.
Other important information about this and all Vault Health test sites in Minnesota:
- Sites are open to all Minnesotans who believe they need a COVID-19 test. You do not have to have symptoms to be tested.
- The COVID-19 test is FREE. ID or insurance is not required. However, if you do have insurance, bring your card as the State of Minnesota will be making an attempt to have the costs incurred covered by your carrier.
If you aren’t flying in or out of MSP but the airport location works for you to get tested, enter via the Terminal 1 roadway and exit at the parking ramp. Signage will direct you to the clinic location and you will be provided with a parking validation ticket for up to two hours of free parking. It’s as simple as that!
